Breathing

That's what I'm listening to right now at 10:15AM. Quiet, smooth and peaceful breathing of my sweet son.
Aaron started wheezing really bad on Sunday afternoon, along with coughing and constant fussing. I took him into our pediatrician yesterday (Monday) because it wasn't stopping...actually it was getting worse. He also wouldn't eat. (Which, if you know Aaron, that's CRAZY)
The Dr. came in and took one listen to his heaving chest and went to go get a breathing treatment started for little Cito.
I left the Dr's office with 3 perscriptions in hand and had a full day of stopping at 3 different pharmacies/medical supply stores. Now, after 5 breathing treatments at home, he is resting peacefully. Thank God. He slept all through the night and only needed to take one treatment at 6:00AM.

Thomas and I are praying and believing in faith that these symptoms will cease immediately! and won't be something Aaron has to deal with any more.

Growing up.

Aaron turns 2 in 25 days, and the day is quickly appoaching where he will need to transition to a "big boy" bed. I found this bedding that I absolutely LOVE for him. (He loves drums, guitars...anything musical)

Now, I am on the prowl for a twin bed set, dresser & nightstand!! I've looked at Wal-Mart and Target (online) and everything seems to be too elaborate for what we need! I just want something simple and somewhat cheap! I mean, he will be using this bed during the roughest, rowdiest, most "interesting" years of his life. I want something that won't make me cringe when I walk into his room and he is jumping off of his bed onto his dresser...or whatever little boys do. Haha. Anyways...I'll keep watching for one. Maybe I find one at a garage sale...

Speaking of GARAGE SALES! I discovered a new favorite hobby. Last weekend, knowing that Thomas would be mowing/doing yardwork from 8AM-2PM (at least), I bought a newspaper on Friday night and scouted out 12 nearby garage sales. I organized a list of the perfect garage sale route, including detailed directions of where each one was, then headed out (with steaming hot chocolate in hand) at promptly 8:00AM. We had borrowed our good friend's portable DVD player and so I plugged in good ol faithful Blues Clues and my little one was as content as could be!
Here are a few things I came home with!

*A BRAND NEW Breadmaker! = $5.00
Photobucket

*2 Cute stand thingys...don't know what to do with these yet... = $0.50
Photobucket

A Scrabble Game = $1.00

A Scene It? Jr. Game $2.00

And a big race car toy for Aaron! = 25 cents

That's all for now! :)

4 Months Later....

Yes, that's how long it's been since I've last blogged. So sad!
Summer is officially over and what a summer it was!!

Today I completely organized our "Nook" in our living room. Since it has a curtain in the doorway of it, we've kinda made it our "whatever doesn't have a home" room. In other words, it was filled with random books, old cell phones, board games, cassettes, tons of CDs, computers, a printer and billions of pages of sheet music! Literally. Billions. It was ridiculous.
So, here was my thinking:
"I just got this gorgeous, shiny, brand-new laptop and I AM NOT going to put in any old unorganized room!!!"

So I made it nice!

She's Baaaack!

The church has closed on the Wylie Swim Club and I have been up to my neck in "pool stuff". I also took a 10 day lifeguarding certification course!
My husband was excited about that! He told me "Now you can do that cool whistle-twirl-on-your-finger-thing that lifeguards do!"
Yes darling, I spent 30 hours getting certified and pulling a 190 lb person with a spinal injury out the bottom of a 12 foot pool to "twirl my whistle." Sigh.
So finally, my days are slowing down a bit and life is getting back to normal. Like today, we actually ate at home...during normal meal times!
So to all my friends (ahem, or all 3 of you that read this...) I am sorry if I have been out of touch with you! I miss you! After this week, it will be alot better.

Take me out to the ball game...or two!

This past Thursday (April 10th) was my darling husband's 30th Birthday. I decided to whisk him away on a Mini Manly Birthday Vacation to DFW. (By manly, I mean, doing manly things...not girly things like spa treatments or Celine Dion concerts)
So we got up on Thursday morning, picked up our favorite car trip buddies (Isaiah & Amanda) and hit the road to the Texas Rangers Ballpark.
The game for the night before got rained out, so our tickets turned out to be good for 2 games that day! (one at 4:00 and one at 7:30) Yes. We stayed for both games. The whole thing. Both games. Like I said, Manly Vacation.

It was SUPER fun though! Here are a few highlights of the games.
1) It just happened to be $1.00 Hot Dog night, so we probably scarfed down 27 hot dogs between the four of us! :)
2) We all got new Rangers T-Shirts
3) The first game was pretty empty so we ended up sitting 15 rows behind 1st base. (SUWEEET!)
4) I got Josh Hamilton's autograph (he actually asked me if I wanted to come hang out in the dugout, but I told him no...)
5) I learned the art on how to correctly eat sunflower seeds...
6) The Rangers won both games

and the highlight of the entire game:
7) We got to see a streaker. Yes...it was hilarious...and yes we cheered him on. He actually make it all the way from 1st base side to the end of center field before he slid on his knees with his arms in the air and let the security dudes take him out. It was great.

So after 8 straight hours of baseball, we headed over to our hotel in Downtown Dallas. We stayed at the Shereton on the 29th floor. Amazing view.

Friday, we SLEPT IN!!! And then headed over to a nearby mall and shopped till we dropped. Thomas, Isaiah & Amanda all got Chinese Acupressure Massages. (I declined....because something about the way they were slapping people on their back and twisting their arms around their face, looked quite uncomforable. ) They all loved it though...

The last activity of our Manly Vacation was stopping back in Arlington at a Movie Theater where you can order meals while you are sitting at the movie. We had pizza. Yum. What a great concept! A restaurant and a movie at the same time. It was fun. Oh yes, and we watched the very manly blackjack movie called 21. (It was pretty good...a couple of typical Vegas scenes...but other than that, we really enjoyed it!)

THEN....we headed home and got back around 10:00pm.

Baseball. $1 Hot dogs. Sunflower Seeds. Streaker. Classy hotel. Shopping. Guy movie. Food. And numerous hours in our car with some fun friends.
It was a good trip.
